He is a deaf mute. We wanted to communicate but couldn't. Donna tried to finger spell in sign language, however that was English not Russian. He was trying to communicate something to us about his gages. Dennis showed him our GWTA card and he registered "Des Moines" and pointed towards Des Moines and then his watch and noted with his fingers the number 2. We assumed he knew it was 2 hours away
