Sherrill and Ben Ress, Judy and Ray Busch, and Dennis Irvin and Donna McCullough decided to get out for a weekend and went to St Joseph Missouri to check out some museums and then on to Sedalia, Missouri where they spent the night. On Saturday night, they traveled to Cole Camp Missouri to have dinner at Charlie’s Buffett. Charlie’s is a unique buffet with foods that are like Great Great Grandma used to cook, with all the seasoning and flavor, and desserts…oh my. To be honest, this was the primary purpose of the trip, over 300 miles to go eat supper! Charlie’s is only open on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4:30 to 8:30 pm. Nothing here is quickly made, it is all slow cooked by hand. It is definitely a place to try sometime.
This picture is of the 6 of these folks near the carousel horse that was inside the museum, Hotel Patee at St Joseph which is where the first pony express ride left headed west of the Missouri river.
